Who we are

Healthy Families Sierra County is a trusted parent support program rooted in relationship, respect, and rural resilience. We walk alongside families from pregnancy through early childhood, offering free, voluntary support that honors each caregiver’s strengths and story.

Our team is made up of compassionate, bilingual professionals who live and work in the communities we serve. Using the evidence-based Healthy Families America (HFA) model, we provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive care designed to strengthen parent-child bonds, support healthy development, and reduce stress.

We believe that strong families build strong communities—and that every parent deserves consistent support, no matter where they live.

What we do

Healthy Families Sierra County provides free, voluntary home visiting services to families in Sierra County and northern Doña Ana County. Through one-on-one support in the comfort of your own home or a community setting of your choice, we help families build strong foundations from the very beginning.

We strengthen the bond between parents and children. Our Family Support Specialists work alongside you to build secure, nurturing relationships with your child — the foundation for healthy development at every age.

We support healthy growth and development. From those first weeks home to your child's early years, we offer guidance on milestones, parenting strategies, and everyday challenges, so you always feel equipped and confident.

We connect families with community resources. Whether you need help finding healthcare, housing assistance, food support, or other local services, we help you navigate the resources available in Sierra and Doña Ana counties.

We promote family well-being. Parenting is hard, and support matters. We're here to listen, reduce stress, and help your whole family thrive — not just survive.

Our services begin as early as pregnancy or within the first few months after your baby is born, and continue for as long as your family needs us. Everything we do is free, confidential, and completely voluntary.
